Ranger High Flow

  • Delivers up to 500 ml/min under pressure
  • Can hook up two bags to the tubing
  • Primarily for trauma/critical illness
  1. Slide the fluid-warming cassette into the slot in the warming unit.
  2. Tighten all luer connections and clamp all clamps.
  3. Hang rectangular air trap on warmer with arrow pointing down.
  4. Spike IV bag and invert (turn upside down).
  5. Open all clamps from IV bag  through the blue clamp.
  6. Squeeze the air out of bag.  Hang bag in upright position as soon as air-free.
  7. Allow the fluid to run through the line until it stops when it reaches the top of the air trap.
  8. Squeeze drip chamber until filter covered.
  9. Open bottom clamps and continue to prime.
  10. Turn on the warmer and connect to patient.

 

Ranger Standard

  • Delivers up to 150 mL/min
  • Primarily for patients who are either cold or at risk for hypothermia who do not need tons of volume

 

  1. Slide the fluid warming cassette into the slot in the warming unit.  The cassette can only fit into the device one way.
  2. Clamp all clamps.
  3. Attach Ranger tubing to regular IV set or blood tubing.  Add extension tubing if necessary to the downstream line. 
  4. Spike IV bag and invert (turn upside down).
  5. Open blue clamp closest to the warmer.
  6. Squeeze the air out of bag.  Hang bag in upright position as soon as air-free.
  7. Invert the bubble trap until the trap fills 2/3rds full with fluid. Place bubble trap in the holder to the right of the warmer.  Open the clamps down from the warmer and prime the rest of the line.
  8. Turn on the warmer and connect to patient.
