CT Prep for Appendicitis
Dysphagia Screen
The prep for patients with suspected appendicitis for CT has changed!  The prep will be 30 minutes long instead of 90 if the body mass index (BMI) is > 25!  For more information, click here! Dyphagia screening is an important part of ensuring the safety of patients with stroke.  It is also one of the parameters that the JCAHO will look at when reviewing our Stroke Center status.   Please click here to see how we should be assessing and documenting the dysphagia screen!

The Morphine Protocol!

Click here for the latest Pain Tidbits, brought to you by our Pain Resource Nurse, Kim Groess!

The Pediatric airway bag is being placed in room 1 this week. Feel free to check through it during down times so you know what is in the bag. It's based on the Broselow system with individual zippered pockets for each weight range.

The OB/GYN cart has also been changed!  The top drawer is for GYN stuff, and the bottoms drawers are for emergency deliveries.  At the very bottom, there are retractors specifically for doing a stat C-section in the ED
